The 24-hour Play-in-a-Day Challenge
Is it possible to produce a well known theatrical show in 24 hours? That is exactly the challenge facing the Monterey High Players. On Friday, May 24th after school, the actors will be given the script for a famous Broadway show. They will have only 24 hours to produce everything needed to present as professional a production as possible. If learning lines in that short period of time isn’t enough, the actors will also have to use everything they have learned in theater to make sets, find props, design and produce costumes, block the show, light it, handle the sound and other technical problems and then produce the tickets and programs for the Saturday May 25th opening of the show at 7:30pm.
This promises to be an exciting adventure in theater making and theater going.
